Competition Rules

Digital Competitions

Entries are being limited to a maximum of 3 per person.
Every entry must be clearly identified using the following convention (in conjunction with CACC – Imagez = IMG) files should be saved with the following filename format IMG_NAME_TITLE01.jpg An example would be IMG_John_Smith_seascape01. JPG
The numbering convention within the filename will be by order of preference 1, 2 or 3 with 1 being considered your best entry. This will help when limiting entries where we have oversubscription
Introduction of a judging limit of approx 50 images. This is to ensure Judge’s have enough time to view, comment and score each submission without having to be rushed.
All digital competitions for 2008 Image sizes should be 1024 X 768 or 768 X 1024 and in JPEG format.
In order to help with collecting/collating of titles we are going to insist that for digital prints all entries must be sent / uploaded to IMAGESCC mailbox by 16.00 on the Sunday prior to Competition date.
The Judge will be asked to give a 1^st /2^nd /3^rd and any commended on the night. Judge to be agreed

Print Competition

Entries are being limited to a maximum of 3 per person.
All entries must be mounted/presented on suitable card/mount board.
Image sizes minimum size of image presented 8” x 6” no maximum print size limit however, maximum mount board size A1.
We will not accept entries as finished framed prints.
Every entry must be clearly identified on the rear using the following convention (in conjunction with CACC – Imagez = IMG) IMG_NAME_TITLE01. An example would be IMG_John_Smith_Seascape 01

Mini Challenge – This is a print competition.

Maximum of 2 entries per person.
Prints need not be mounted but must be minimum of 5” x 7” in size no maximum size limit (if mounted must not exceed A3)
The category for each competition is shown beforehand and interpretation is down to the author.
It will be the responsibility of the author to ensure that they have registered their names and entries on the list provided. The prints will be collected at the start of the evening and displayed for viewing/judging in the main hall during the tea break.
After the event it is again the author’s responsibility to collect their entries and record their scores on the list

A ‘mystery judge’ will judge the prints. These will be identified as Best overall (1^st), Commended (upto 2 prints) Merit (upto 4 prints)
Points will be awarded as follows :

Best overall 10 points

Commended 8 points

Merit 6 Points

All other entries 4 points each

The score will be entered onto a league table and subsequently displayed on the notice board. After all the competitions the overall winner will be the person with the most points
