Hi Folks,
This year’s coming Events & Locations taking place, Tuesday 3rd January
After this Christmas and New Year celebrations the club met for the start of the year to share and discuss any events and locations coming up which may be of interest to club members.
Chris our club chairman had placed 12 blanks sheets on the wall to represent each month of the year. Chris went on to explain that he hoped the club would help build a diary of interesting events which could be added to each year.
Chris had himself made a list to share but asked if we could all add to it by writing any known coming events on the relevant month’s sheet.
Chris then talked of his interest in motor racing and vintage car events and gave several meetings that he hoped to attend like Silverstone, Goodwood and also mentioned the London to Brighton car rally.
Other events taking place in London during the year mentioned were the Notting Hill carnival, Museums at Night (which will be open to the public on various dates) and the colourful Chinese New Year.
In March there is the Photographic exhibition at Birmingham and Chris produced more ideas for venues each month but the list when complied will be added to the club’s website so I won’t list them all. In the meantime, if any club members that didn’t attend the meeting have any events that they would like to share please contact Chris.
Kathy kindly made the tea and coffee whilst members added their information to the sheets of other known events taking place.
After the break Chris mentioned the club’s programme for next week which is the ‘candle lit photography night’ and to bring our cameras, tripods and candles.
Also next Tuesday Luke is attending the 2nd round of Rosebowl competition at Watford however, this will clash with our club’s regular evening meeting but that is just unfortunate. Any member who wants to go Watford should speak to Luke as there may be car spaces available.
The following Tuesday on the 17th will be the ‘winner on the night’ open print competition and Chris just wanted to remind us that we need to enter the images of the prints on to the club’s website by the Sunday midnight deadline for the prints to be valid on the Tuesday night.
