Hi Folks,
Oh well that is Christmas over and the start of 2018 for the camera club meet ups again.
Last night the ImageZ camera club were hosting one of the second rounds of the Rosebowl competition.
As a reminder after the first round ImageZ C.C. had finished third in our group.
The results after our first round 1st Oxford PS 254, 2nd Woodley PC 250, 3rd ImageZ 242, 4th St. Albans PC 240.
Chenxi our club’s Rosebowl organiser had got several of our most experienced club members together to select the images for the next round.
I had not been to a Rosebowl competition before and was interested to see how the judge would view sixty images entered from four different clubs, all of which I am sure scored high marks in their own club competitions
The Judge for the evening was John Credland from Buckingham.
At the start John asked for a run through of all sixty images and he decided he would judge thirty of them before a coffee break and the next thirty afterwards.
The marking during the evening seemed to follow a trend of scoring 17 or less if the image was not held back, such was the level of competition nine images had been held back before the interval time.
I don’t have permission to show or take other club’s pictures and therefore I did not want to disadvantage our club by showing our entries lol.
Then a break for coffee
In the second half another four images were held back by John and at the end these thirteen had to be judged into having marks between twenty and eighteen.
There was then a short break for all marks to be totals up.
The result
1st Imagez camera club 259
2nd Pinner camera club 257
3rd Whitchurch Hill camera club 250
4th Hemel Hempstead PS 244
Three images were awarded 20 marks so well done to the photographers (two of which got the judge’s two stars).
Stag in Early morning light **
Predawn in Westminster
Enjoying the carnival ** ( the only one who did not have to get up early said judge John)
I believe our Chris got a 20 and a 19 and also Brian got a 19, so well done guys but I don’t have any names against our scores.
Also well done Chenxi and ImageZ camera club for steering us into a close win in this round.
Next week is a change to the club’s programme and it will become an activity night so please bring along cameras and tripods.
An email will be going out to each member to explain what is needed for the evening.
