ImageZ – It’s a Knockout
Tuesday, April 5th @ 20:15 – 22:15
Attendees 28
Last night our club members enjoyed an evening of a “fun” game called “It’s a Knockout”. We have previously held this “fun” evening in Weston Turville Village Hall, but due to the increase in Covid cases we have gone back onto Zoom for a while.
Camera club members were asked to submit up to five images each. For the submissions no date limit was set on taking the images, and you could send in your best or second best. We were asked not to enter images that had been seen before in competitions in order to give us fresh images to see. It was also suggested that we should not vote for our own images, although there were no hard and fast rules on these two suggestions.
There were 8 rounds in total, and 27 members submitted 135 images. Two images were randomly selected and projected on screen side by side, and members were asked to vote for their favourite image. The image with the higher number of votes was selected each time. As the rounds progressed it became more difficult to select one of the two images.
There was a wide selections of genres, with many excellent images entered. Any of the images can be entered into future competitions for judging.
The image of the night was titled “The Glass Winged Butterfly, which was a monochrome image taken by Amanda Hawes. Congratulations to her.
The evening was very enjoyable, and it was “fun” trying to choose your favourite images.
Thank you to Chris for organising the game and the evening, and to Chenxi & Kes for their excellent tech skills displaying all the images and counting up the votes for us.
On Thursday this week the Exhibition at the Queens Park Arts Centre, which has been a success will be taken down. We hope you all enjoyed visiting it and taking your families.
Next week we have:-
ImageZ Club Night – Echoes of Silence – Chernobyl 34 years later! – Guest Speaker – Graham Harries.
