This week at ImageZ meeting a few more experienced members shared some of their Still life set ups to encourage and inspire others to continue to work on photographs throughout the Winter.
The variety of set ups, featured equipment that could be used and creative ideas which could be tried and would give inspiration.
There was a very good variety of set ups provided by David, Alan, Chenxi, Chris, Barry, Brian and Laurence. Carol had raided the Christmas Tree and provided Baubles, Pine Cones ,Tinsel and Pot Pourri.
Our member attendance was very good, especially as England were playing in the World Cup match and the weather was dismal and cold.
David had provided Laptops with bright colour backgrounds on the screens, a wine glass, tumbler and Jug with clear liquid in which stood on a reflective base in front of the laptop. This made a lovely image as you will see with this blog
Brian had provided lights and leaves and he borrowed some cones and Pot Pourri from Carol which again made an interesting image. Brian was able to guide others on lighting, and settings.
Chris had bought along a model car which he positioned and provided different coloured lights to give different effects.
Chenxi provided two set ups, one which featured two wine glasses
with fake ice and coloured liquid on wires. The glasses collide and the photographer catches the splash of liquid.
The other feature was a bowl of coloured liquid causing a soap bubble.
Alan had provided a black backing and tablecloth with Crystal Ball which gave various photographic qualities and reflections and no he didn’t provide a reading to members afterwards.
Barry provided various objects including a lovely flower which could be held against a black background to make a beautiful image. This again was about composition, lighting and settings. Barry had a table full of equipment he was talking people through.
Laurence provided a very nice Nativity scene as you can see again on accompanying photos.
The evening was casual and friendly with two new members coming along and joining the fun. People were soon fixing tripods, chatting and giving each other hints and help.
It was a relaxed and fun workshop organised by Chris that worked very well.

Well, that looks like a well organised and interesting evening to provide some excellent photography ideas. A good blog Carol as usual. I was sorry to miss it. I am sure you all enjoyed yourselves. I look forward to another practical evening which I hope I can attend.
