After a two year hiatus due to Covid, Tuesday saw us physically gathering for our Christmas ‘Do’ in the hall instead of remotely by Zoom.
Festive Christmas music greeted the members, this was kindly supplied by Alan Taberer, who was also our quiz master for the evening. I’m sure we are all in agreement, he did a magnificent job, testing our knowledge, (or lack of it) with various seasonal quiz questions, word searches, anagrams and a Christmas crossword puzzle. Random questions left many of us stumped. Like ……..
In which country do many families traditionally eat KFC for Christmas dinner? Not sure anyone got this one.
And…. If New Year’s Day is the first day of the year, what number is Christmas Day? Lots of finger counting went on in the hall!!
Light snacks and nibbles were laid out on the tables. A big thank you must go to Carol, who sadly was unwell and unable to attend. But, she went ‘Above and Beyond’ by not only purchasing all the food, but driving over to my house to drop it off. We missed you Carol, and thank you very much.
I do believe Father Christmas also joined us, I did notice he was keeping in touch with his Elves through modern technology. See pictures.
Wishing all our members and their loved ones a very Merry Christmas.
