21st May 2024
For the final evening of our season, we arranged a Fish and Chip supper. Forty-two members enjoyed relaxing and chatting whilst eating.
The celebration of the year was given by Chairman Caroline Petch and the golden camera was presented to Kes Ward for winning the Cup Challenge. This competition takes place over the year with five rounds and accumulative scores. Barry Coxon came a close second.
Caroline and David Gibbs gave a presentation on the Chairmans challenge which was shown on power-point with links to various photographers who will guide us with hints and tips on Intentional Camara Movement, Panning with the Camera, The Rule of thirds and Black and White photography in Camera. Members can get more info about the challenge in the members area of the website, and the online entry is already open for members to submit their three images.
The evening continued with a talk through the Summer Programme which features various locations including a walk-through London with fabulous photo opportunities led by Chris and a walk in Oxford again with great photo opportunities led by Brian.
The evening finished with a fun quiz.
We look forward to a good summer break and a return in September. Please keep looking at the website to see the date of each Summer Club Location. Also, in the members area.
Congratulations of Kes and Barry for coming first and second in the overall totals for the year. It looks as though you had an interesting evening with Caroline and David giving presentations, and then talking about the Summer programme. I am sure the quiz was a lot of fun to round off the evening.
I hope you all have a good summer and that the weather improves for taking images.
