Our speaker on Tuesday was Tigz Rice. She defines herself as an Empowerment Photographer working in the genre usually called boudoir photography.

Tigz offers her models on the shoots she does, Confidence, Connection, Authenticity, Representation and Legacy. She works to make the models look as beautiful as they want to be using beautiful clothes, lingerie, striking makeup, and wonderful locations.

Tigz is a remarkable young woman who began photographing friends and models in her flat and has worked her way up to be a very sought after photographer across the world. She has won photographic competitions and has published a book of her work.
Tigz took us through her journey describing her pitfalls, her successes and her ethos to her work which is very much to Empower both models and photographers by her photography and her presentations. She described how she learned about lighting and composition, introduced story telling into her photography, how her business grew and how she coped during Covid.
We enjoyed a presentation of her work as she spoke in the first half of the evening which was outstanding.
She shared her diagnosis of ADHD and Autism which was quite recent and was happy to answer questions on Neurodivergence, and living with and managing this with her work.
The second part of the evening Tigz connected with the audience asking us; Why we didn’t shoot portraits and the insecurities we had around this genre.
Questions such as: I don’t know how to pose the model, I don’t have costumes, What if it goes wrong. She answered these questions and more finding simple answers to these doubts.
She was very reassuring and certainly empowering. We had a most enjoyable evening Her work is certainly very inspiring.
Tigz provided a selection of photos for this blog.
Thank you to Tigz!
