The first meeting of the year has been and gone and now we look forward to the season ahead. It was great to see a number of new faces at the first meeting of the year, if you are thinking about coming along, and haven’t yet then please do so. On the 17th of September we have two kinds of meeting at the same time, one for new photographers wanting to find out more about taking better pictures, and one for the more established photographers keen to share some of the pictures they have taken over the summer.
New to photography?
If you’ve been bitten by the photography bug, even with a camera phone, then we are starting the series of four workshops on Tuesday 17th of September. It’s not so much the camera you have but understanding what it can do and what you can do to make better pictures. The four sessions cover a range of topics that will help you to take better pictures with the camera you have. Making a better picture can be as simple as thinking of the arrangement and placement of the subject in the frame, not lots of technical stuff or even a better camera.
Competitions start soon…
Just a quick reminder for the members that they need to be thinking about their entries for the opening round of the club challenge which will be on 24th September. David the internal competition secretary will be sending out a reminder to members on the email list shortly.
If you’ve just joined then take a look at the Preparing for competitions section on the website and specifically the how to send your entries in for a digital competition page.
Deadline for entries is midnight on Saturday the 21st of September 2013.
