Beginner’s course and Calendar events, Tuesday, 18th September 2018

Hi Folks,

 

Last night it was the first of the three part beginner’s course held in the back room by Dave Cullimore.

I spoke to one of our new members afterwards who was delighted with the course content and how it was run and was looking forward to the next one.

Whilst in the main hall the regular cat was disputing about his membership fees lol

However, once the evening started in the main hall Chris Andrews was compiling a list of possible photographic venues and events running throughout a year to make into a calendar. Members were asked to add any event they knew about on to a board by month.

And just before coffee time the list had grown

In the second half Chris went through the list expanding them and explaining what the events were all about.

Also asking members to contribute a chat on some of the events they had added.

Chris talked of the motor show in Regent St where cars are parked to be photographed.

Kathy talked of the Christmas lights at Waddesden but to go inside the Manor house one needed to book early

Lawrence told us of the Lindengate festival, an open day to the public, which had flowers to photograph, a venue the club went to two years ago on a summer visit

Carol talked about Stockgrove Park which was nice to visit for taking photographs

All these events Chris has now taken home to compile into a calendar and will be on the club’s website.

Chris would also like to receive any additional ideas from members who were not there on the night.
