Hi Folks,
It was planned to do some painting with lights in the car park but it was raining outside. So it was plan B to do two sessions of it in the hall and the back room.
Alan Taberer had a smoke making machine in the backroom to add effect under various colour lights.
In the main hall we had various lights brought along by members.
Luke, I am your father
Chris explained that the fun of light painting is that ‘you just don’t know what you are going to get’ in your camera image. I know my thoughts were a bit like a box of chocolates where I usually end up with the ‘coffee cream’s lol.
However, I had recently taken a photo at the reservoir in manual using a setting of 200 ISO but the picture turned out to be grainy and when I looked the ISO was recorded at 10,000 odd. Asking questions last night I had not realised the 200 ISO was just a lower setting and I had no upper ISO limit set, so I learnt something new last night. I will be back to the reservoir to redo that shot on the next good day.
Anyway, I digress, Chris suggested various settings to use like 10 seconds shooting time, F9 and ISO of 200, we all had tripods.
Desmond Fox and Chris Andrews gave us their time acting at modelling and spinning the lighted sticks. Whilst Alan Taberer helped those in the back room.
This was done using the fairy lights on a stick
Another set of lights in two baskets were spun around by Jan and Julia
However, Chris’s Sabre light seemed to be very impressive in all the shots taken.
Then Desmond acted as a model whilst Chris spun a stick with white Christmas lights behind him to reveal Desmond’s silhouette.
However, the most impressive shots came at the end when Chris used his light sabre behind Desmond to reveal a possible James Bond style entry scene (or the Ad of the Lady who likes Milk Tray coffee creams) lol
So a good evening was had by all
Next week is
