Kathy welcomed all to the first round of the Rosebowl competition hosted by ImageZ.
The other clubs taking part were Stoke Poges, New City, and Harrow.
There were sixty images in all, and the evening was split into two halves showing thirty images each, with a short break in the middle for tea.
The judge Amanda Wright asked for a brief run through of the images and then we all settled back to an enjoyable array of exceptionally fine images with a comprehensive critique from Amanda on each one.
The Rosebowl Competition is a significant event in the CACC Calendar, and all clubs want to do well. There were representatives from all the clubs attending.
The images were of a very high standard and included Portraits, Landscapes, Wildlife, Street scenes, Still life and Abstracts, showing a variety of outstanding and creative pictures.
Amanda gave very extensive comments on all individual images which included , “very striking in its simplicity,” “a wonderful colour palette,” “the author thought carefully about composition,” and “a very good angle on this image.”
At the end of the evening the held back images were awarded their scores and two images were given stars. The total scores for each club were added as we all waited with eager anticipation.
The results were Stoke Poges 4th with 254 points
New City and Harrow both 2nd with 262 points
ImageZ 1st with 272 points.
Well done to all winners and on to the next round.
