There was a bumper gathering of members for the “trek” around Old Kiln Lakes in Chinnor. Despite some recent rain it the paths were pretty dry, and only a little slippery at the very far end of the lakes on the steepest part. The sun was out and we took advantage of one of the latest sunsets of the whole summer program to make use of the light. I’m sure a few members will be back to explore this location again in the coming months.
Right at the start, next to the car park there was a significant group of orchids growing, and many were spotted during the walk in the chalky grasslands. One or two members tried their hand at photographing the moon, sunset, and skylarks were heard singing above us.
Chris had a wide variety of shots from different sections of the Old Kiln Lakes area, you can find them on his flickr page.
Good to visit somewhere different and to see that land being returned to nature.
