ImageZ Summer Meeting – Aylesbury
June 7th Attendees 18
The weather held out for us last night when a group of ImageZ club members came to stroll around Aylesbury to take photos.
It was the first of our summer meetings which began at St Marys Church in Church Street. We welcomed a new member Karma, who had been interested by our web street, and Chris who has attended two previous meetings. It was good to be able to chat in an informal setting.
Our chairman Kathy had set some challenges for us over the summer and now was a chance to try to get some textures, alternative viewpoints or opposites.
We moved on to the Market Square where a small group struggled with the light when trying to get a picture of the Kings Head, a well-known pub with historical references. It is believed that Oliver Cromwell spent the night there, and one of our members who is keen on the Tudor times thought Henry V111 had spent time there too.
Enter Brian to the rescue, as he helped us all to find the settings for light compensation. Something that Imagez prides itself on is the sharing of knowledge between the more experienced photographers with the less experienced.
We continued to the Aylesbury Basin and Aylesbury arm canal behind the Waterside Theatre where we all explored photo opportunities. A small group of us finished with a drink at a local pub where it was still warm enough to sit outside.
A good start to the summer season.
Thanks for arranging Carol. Always good to find subject matter on our doorstep!
Thank you Chris
Thank you Carol, for arranging, and the excellent blog!
Thanks Tami
Hi Carol,
I am glad you all enjoyed your evening. I was sorry not to be there but I was in Somerset for a few days with my family. It was nice to see some of the photos, and to know that quite a number of members were able to go out to take some images. A good blog as always Carol.
Thanks for such an enjoyable and informative evening walk. And thanks to Brian for setting up my camera settings.
I look forward to more of the practical evenings.
