Welcome back to everyone. We now have fifty members on the books, and we are pleased to say we welcomed a further three new members last night to the club. The evening began with a welcome and a brief introduction of the committee members and their various roles by Carol.
Chris talked through the coming season, outlining the competitions, explaining how Martin will be supporting him, by organising the workshops, and then describing the speakers who will be presenting this year.
He also talked about the imminent Informal Critique evening next week when members can enter two images and one of our resident Judges Alan Taberer will give a friendly informal critique.
Laurence covered our Health and Safety regulations. Then we continued with our Chairmans challenge which had been set for members to take-on over the summer break.
Sixty three pictures had been entered under four categories of Intentional Camera Movement, in-camera Black and White, Panning, and The Rule of Thirds.
Members had risen to the occasion with lovely examples of each category and Brian gave a gentle critique on each image.
Here’s a selection of the images created by members for the Chairman’s Challenge.
After the break we had a Presentation about the upcoming Three Counties Panel competition prepared by Kathy and presented by Brian with last years entries added as examples. Members were encouraged to start thinking about their entires for this as we will be choosing images on the 8th of October.
The evening ended with a thank you to all who came along and help to any members who needed support to join online.
