Club Challenge Round 4

This evening was the fourth round of the Club Challenge and with one round left to play the competition is close. This evening was split by a break into two halves. The first round was a selection of PDI’s. The second round was a selection of prints.

Twenty images had been entered in the PDI section. Last night the subject was Solitude quite a difficult subject to define. There were many people’s images with solitary people, but some were on the phones, and some were sitting alone but quite near to others.

Rojer Weightman our Judge gave a good critique with added humour and explained his definition of solitude He said “that some photographs instilled in you feeling of solitude whereas some images did not quite give the viewer that sense of Peace and solitude.

Rojer held back six images, and the results are as follows:

• Paul Benham – Sunrise over Portland – 20
• Lynn Day – Alone at Vestrahom – 20
• Derek Green – Like all here in Solitude I existed here once – 19
• Kathy Chantler – A few Minutes Peace – 19
• Brian Worley – Territory for One – 18
• Damon Mitchell – Under the Bridge – 18

We had seventeen prints entered for the Challenge and again many of a high standard. Rojer congratulated the members on the standard of mounting on our prints.
Again, Rojer’s critique was insightful and kind.

• Caroline Petch – A snack on the Go – 18
• Derek Green – Ready to Pounce – 18

Well done to all the Winners especially Kathy and Chenxi who each scored a twenty and nineteen, in the two rounds also Judges Favourite, Lynn also did the same scoring a nineteen and a twenty but missed out on the judges choices.
