Last Tuesday saw the return of the location challenge competition. Members were given an intentionally short notice brief to capture images within a 1-mile radius of Aylesbury prison. There were four themed sections, of which members each chose three to enter; Red, Round, Wild and Odd.
We began with the Red round and this had been interpreted in many ways including, Red chillies, Two Remembrance crosses with Red Poppies on them, a Red Car presented in a stylised way as was a red building with windows, a number of Post office signs and a postman with his van and bag. There were many more.
Our judge Paul Mason from Ealing gave two images twenty score.
The next section was Round when again there was a selection of images.
These included a round silver ball from Art installation in the Cinema square where the Author had caught reflections of the shops and restaurants in this. There were three church clocks in this round also.
After break our theme of Odd came up which was interpreted on many images with odd numbers. Such as the three University buildings with a great reflection in the canal basin. Another image was house number plaque with a number one, and good texture. Another was of Swan’s feet which looked rather prehistoric.
The subject of Wild bought forth flowers and a feeding frenzy of birds fighting for grain being thrown by a passerby.
The overall results for the four sections were that four winners shared first place, and they were Alun Morgan, Damon Mitchell
Tony Cashen and David Jones who all shared fifty-three points from a possible sixty. The competition was highly contested with several members tied on 52 points too.
Congratulations to the winners.
Thank you to our judge Paul Mason from Ealing & Hampshire House PS.

Next Week is ImageZ – Your Photography Story
Hopefully participants enjoyed looking for photos in an area perhaps not obviously photogenic!
Thanks as ever for the blog Carol.
Thanks for the blog Carol, it was an interesting evening. Well done to the winners too.
