Our last Tuesday evening featured the “Best of The Best Images”. These had been taken from all competitions over the season. All images entered had scored nineteen or twenty points. We had sixty images in the Open section and thirty-six in the themed section.
Best of the Best – OPEN
Our brave judge was Peter Cox from Tring Camera Club who did a splendid job critiquing each image in a very comprehensive and informative way. The standard of the images was very high and included, Portraits, Wildlife, Still life, and Nature.
Peter held back fifteen images and had to bring this down to ten images for members to vote on.

Members voted on this section by a show of hands and the winning image was portrait called ‘A Theatrical Stare ‘by Damon Mitchell.
Best of the Best – THEME
The second half of the evening featured thirty -five images and again Peter‘s critiques were succinct and interesting. The images included Wildlife, Creative, Eeerie, and Powerful images. Peter held back ten images and brought them down to six. He described good images as images that ‘Glow.’
Members voted on the six images to choose one titled ‘Another world’ by Lynn Day.

Best of the Best
Finally, members had to vote between the two images A Theatrical Stare a clown like portrait with amazing eyes, and Another World a macro of an underwater scene colourful and striking. ‘Another World’ by Lynn Day won on votes by members.
Thank you to Peter and well done to Damon and Lynn. They will receive certificates on our last evening of the season.
