Tuesday 4th November
As part of our programme this year members requested an evening where we explored our cameras, sharing knowledge on different camera techniques and features. Members were asked to email their questions to for the programme chief Chris to allocate suitable members reply to. An evening was arranged to answer many of the questions.

On Tuesday evening three of our members, Stuart, Brian, and Chris gave a presentation and talked us through the answers to various submitted questions, including the topics mentioned below. Some topics were generic and not dependent on specific camera models or features, others were specific to an individual camera or range of cameras from a single brand.
- JPEG versus RAW
- What is exposure bracketing?
- White Balance
- How to use your histogram
- Multiple Exposures
- What is focus Peaking?

This was just some of the questions raised and Stuart, Chris, and Brian did an excellent job talking us through the many subjects raised.
Thanks to some magical technology, we were able to record the presentation and it’s available for club members to refer back to. The link to the YouTube video has already been sent to members.

A big thank you to these three who worked very hard on making the subjects clear and interesting. The training was very well received, and I think another evening like this would be advantageous.

Next week Winner on the Night 2 – an OPEN competition for both prints and projected digital images (PDI).

This was an excellent series of presentations and although I couldn’t attend the meeting just watching the video gave me all the information I needed. So well done Craig, Chris and Brian on a real educational event.
Thanks gents for the presentations, It has made me think about macro photography, multi exposure and shifting focus.
Hope to try out and hopefully put an image into a competition
