Tuesday 3rd March 2026
Tuesday evening the members from two local photography clubs; Leighton Buzzard, and Buckingham, came to join us for a 3-way Match-a-Slide competition.
The idea of the Match-a-slide competition game allows one team to put up an image and the other two teams to find an image which is similar, Each team starts with 30 images that they have chosen, and each image can only be used once. Each club has their own screen, projector and laptop. As the evening progresses the number of images left in each club’s selection reduces making for more “tenuous” matching and some downright comical matches at times.
The judge for this competition; Steven Galvin, gave marks out of five on the quality of each of the three images and another mark out of five for showing an image that has a good match with the first image displayed. Some light hearted audience humour and barracking of the judge is part of the fun of this light hearted competition.
Steven was a particularly good sport and battled his way through many rounds, handing out scores of two and even one as each team ran out of matching slides and came up with very unlikely matches.
Refreshments at half time included several types of cake and chocolate biscuits which added to the fun atmosphere.
At the end of the evening scores were added and Buckingham were the winners by 1-point, with Leighton Buzzard second and ImageZ third just a couple of points adrift.
Thank you to all who came along to support and a big thank you to Steven who did an admirable job.
