Round 5 – Money & Open Categories
Another year of amazing images we’ve had in the Club Challenge this season!
After round 4, it was pretty tight at the top with Peter Carter and John Timbrell fighting off Kathy Chantler for the top spot, with a few others not far behind. Both Peter and John needed to beat Kathy’s scores by 2 points and they would pip her to the post and take the win.
There are only 14 images entered the “Money” category, which seems to be a very difficult setup theme, 3 images were held back and Peter Carter’s “A Fiver for Your Snorts” was awarded the only 20 point in this category and also the judge’s choice. This is a crucial win for Peter, it makes Peter the winner of themed challenge this season with a total 93 points in 5 rounds. Furthermore, this judge’s choice also contributes to his overall scores in the end.
There are 29 images entered the “Open” category, 7 of them were held back, Nick Bennett’s “The Same But Different” and Sarah Jennings’s “Under Attack” were given 20 points. The judge’s choice was awarded to Sarah. The winner of the open category challenge this season went to Kathy Chantler who did manage to get 95 points during the 5 rounds.
For the overall winner, we have a tie at the top, both John Timbrell and Peter Cater managed to grab 186 points after 5 rounds!!! However, Peter got 2 judge’s choice this season, John only got 1.
So…. the overall winner of the 5-round club challenge 2018/2019 goes to Peter Carter!! Congratulations, well deserved.
