Hi Folks,
Last night was the club’s end of season presentation night held at Queen’s Park Centre. Parking was a little tight at the venue so I decided to get a lift from my wife.
In the excitement I left my camera in the car, it was a good job it wasn’t a wedding lol.
However, Kathy had a camera with her to save the situation.
The evening started with some food and nibbles.
There was a display of all the prints selected in the Chiltern Prints Competition.
I remember Judge Micki Aston talking about an image of Nick’s,
saying, always make contact with your subjects first and make them feel at ease.
Perhaps even buying something from them to gain their confidence,
well sorry Nick I did not have any money with me lol.
There was a display of cups on show which reminded me of the scene from Indiana Jones film ‘The Last Crusade’.
Now which cup is the ‘Holy Grail’ ?
mine this evening is the plastic one, now have I chosen wisely lol
Soon it was Presentation time.
Kathy our Chair Lady said, what a wonderful season we have had this year and have ended it by winning the Rosebowl trophy.
Can we do it again next year?
Hopefully every member will have seen their photography improve over the season.
There was a big thank you to Brian and Chris and all others that have helped in setting up evenings for the benefit of its members.
Kathy said, there is a wonderful atmosphere in the club with members willing to help with many tasks involved in running the club.
So the first club member to be presented with a cup was Barry Coxon for winning the theme of ‘sharp’ in the ‘winner on the night’ competition.
The second cup was presented to Kathy by Chris for winning the ‘open’ print round in ‘winner on the night’ competition
Certificates were awarded to John Timbrell winning the ‘Mystery’ theme in round 2 of the League Challenge Cup
Also to Chenxi winning theme of ‘cold’ in the 3rd round of League Challenge Cup
Chris for winning the theme of ‘Love’ in the 4th round of the League Challenge Cup.
Also to Peter Carter for winning the theme of ‘money’ in the 5th round in League Challenge Cup
Also Sarah Jennings receiving a certificate for winning the open round in round 5 of the League Challenge Cup.
Finally the remaining cups went to Peter Carter for winning the overall themes section in the League Challenge Cup.
and Kathy the overall winner of the open rounds in the League Challenge Cup.
And the club’s major trophy went to Peter Carter who just pipped John Timbrell for the title both having the same points but Peter won on one more Judge’s choice
It was so close and if both had had the same number of Judge’s choices I think it may have gone to a penalty shoot out in the Weston Turville car park lol
The Chair lady’s award went to Carol for her dedication and work for the club this year.
All the winners together

Summer Event – Coombe Hill Monument Meet-Up
Tuesday June 4, 2019 from 19:15 to 21:15
The first summer event will be a meet up at Coombe Hill Monument (weather permitting). Aim to be at the monument 7.15-7.30pm. Hopefully good views of the vale of Aylesbury, if you’re patient you might see a sunset (due around 9.15pm).
The car park can be found at Lodge Hill, Aylesbury HP17 0UR and it’s a 10-15 minute walk to the monument from here.
I thought it was a nice social evening, and well done to all the winners.
