This was our last summer meeting of the season and was organized by Brian Worley and lead by Kathy Chantler. Fourteen members gathered by Rumsey’s with tripods and cameras at the ready. The aim for most of us was to practice getting light trails panning, and star bursts, as movement and star bursts had been one of the Chairman’s challenges over the summer season.
As usual there was a lot of consultation and good humor as discussions on settings, and technique took place.
We attracted quite of lot of people who came up to ask what we were doing, and one man thought a celebrity was about to arrive. I think he might have been expecting David Beckham or Beyonce, but we had to sadly disappoint him. We did manage to raise some interest about the club and some onlookers took cards.
As the darkness came it became easier to achieve the light trails, although some motorists looked slightly nervous thinking, we were speed checking. Kathy supported those who asked for advice, and I think most people were pleased with their outcomes.
After an hour we retired to the pub as it had got a bit cold and toasted the new season. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
