Imagez Club Night: Hosting Rosebowl Competition Round 2
7.12.21 Attendees 30
Four clubs participated in last night’s Rosebowl challenge for Round two.
Thet were Leighton Buzzard, Banbury CC and Ealing and Hampshire House P.S.
Chris Drury was our judge for the evening who had an measured, methodical, approach to each image. The images had been chosen to represent each club and were some excellent images. Chris decided not to hold images back and gave each image a critique and a score out of twenty.
The images began with an image titled “Feel the Silence” which featured a beautiful Owl sitting on a fence. It certainly had a calming feel to it which was needed as nerves were jangling.
There was an immense variety of images, ranging from vibrant street images, beautiful soft flowers, sharp wildlife images you could have bounced your fingers off the hairs on their chins, some wonderful high key images, and very clever and imaginative images with layers of superimposed images. “Three of a kind” was a clever dramatic image of playing cards with macabre faces on.
The photographs from ImageZ were all an extremely high standard and included David Gibbs’s Marmalade Hover Fly, (a great macro,) Peter Carter’s Big Yawn (a mother and baby Zebra) Peter Timbrell’s Vertical corner and Window (Subtle Abstract)
Kathy’s Millenium Bridge, (a lovely long exposure in mono. and Chenxi’s Flapping Pelican (with the frozen drops of water.) to name but a few.
Five images scored 20’s and they were
‘Duo Cosmos,’
’Angelina ‘from our own Julia Cleaver,
‘Touching Down,’
‘Blue-tailed Bee eaters,’
‘The banks have broken’ again from our own Chris Andrews with 20. Chris also scored a 19 with ‘All at Sea’ Well done to Julia and Chris
It was a nail -biting finish when we waited while people added up the scores then it was announced that
Ealing and Hampshire cam 4th with 256points
Banbury 3rd with 257 points
Leighton buzzard 2nd with 261points
And ImageZ took 1st place with 264 points
Members from the various clubs thanked Chris Drury and congratulations went to ImageZ from all.
Next week is our Christmas Party at the Western Turville Hall at 8.15.
Look forward to seeing you all.
