The AMG was well attended. Chairman Caroline, Treasurer Becca and Program Secretary Chris presented their annual reports which were well received by the membership. Members were informed that the club is going from strength to strength. Membership numbers and the club’s finances continue to be healthy and provide a strong foundation for the future development of the club and its activities. A decision to keep the membership fee at current levels for the 2024/2025 membership year was very welcome news.
Lifetime Membership

A highlight of the evening was the award of Lifetime Memberships to long standing members Val Lapthorne and Alan Taberer. Val was unable to attend, but a clearly touched Alan was able to accept the award and shared with the membership the club’s history and what he loves about our club.
Competition themes for 2024/25 season
The members were invited to express their preferences for upcoming activities and their opinions on the club’s activities on members’ photography. A shortlist of competition themes was provided for the members to vote on for their preferred theme in the 2024/25 season. The six themes selected were:
- Abstract
- Close-up
- Out of the darkness
- Power
- Solitude
- Weather
Images captured after the AGM date; 20th February 2024 are eligible for entry in the 2024/2025 themed competitions. Please make sure to check the competition rules for open entries and other competitions.
The evening concluded with a light-hearted quiz testing members’ photography knowledge.
