29th October 2024
ImageZ hosted this competition at Weston Turville in Buckinghamshire, and we welcomed the other clubs Leighton Buzzard from Bedford, and Tring from Herts to take part in this second running of the competition.
The evening began promptly with a run through of the forty- five Images entered.
Our judge Kevin Day began by explaining that the panel of images put forward “had to come together as a whole.”
The panels varied from three images to six images and the subjects were varied. The standard was extremely high, and the mood was pleasantly competitive.
Kevin had an analytical approach to the images studying every feature and not only looking at technical expertise, but storyline and emotional content. He spent time looking at the cohesion of the panel and identified images that did not display the strength of the others.
Nineteen panels were held back and Kevin took time to identify the Commended, Highly Commended and the Third, Second, and First placed panels. These are below.
Commended:
- Bio Building Oxford by Roger Bennion (Tring)
- Serenade by Chris Gregory (Tring)
- Majestic Ascent over Atlas Mountains by Roger Agnew (Tring)
- London Architecture by Caroline Petch (ImageZ)
- Hybrid Vehicle by Una White (Tring)
- Incoming Tide by Kathy Chantler (ImageZ)
Highly Commended:
- Blossoms In Cream by Femke Van Otterjike (Tring)
- Age of Steam by Sally Kitchingman (Leighton Buzzard)

1st Place Imperial War Museum Salford by Mike Kitchingman (Leighton Buzzard)
2nd Place Speeds and Feeds by David Manning (Leighton Buzzard)
3rd Place Falling tide by David Jones (ImageZ)
Points were awarded for the the images as follows:-
- First:- 5 Points

After scores were added the results were
- Leighton Buzzard:- 13 points
