Tuesday 10th December 2024
On Tuesday five stations were set up with laptops for five kind volunteer members to demonstrate techniques on different software. We could choose a station to visit and then move on after twenty -five minutes to the next one.
Steve worked on High -Key and Low- key presentations and how to achieve Rim lighting with Photoshop and Camera Raw.
Grant showed us how to work on various sections of a photo and how to use masks and layers to improve our photos using Photoshop.
Alun explained how to section parts of an image by it’s luminance using the tools on a- plug in TK9.
Derek worked on his software ‘On1’ that he’s been using for over 8 years. He worked thru the basic steps in improving an image using the cropping and “AI Brilliance”, and the “AI no noise” functions.
Brian explained some basic techniques for sharpening images and also using the intelligent masking to separately process foreground subjects and backgrounds. He also showed how to apply settings created for one image to others – even of a completely different subject.
The evening was very informative and many of us were scribbling notes as we went along.
Thank you to all volunteers the evening wouldn’t have worked so well without you .
