Zoom meeting 21/1/25
Our guest speaker last night was Rosemary Wilman Hon.FRPS. Rosemay explained in her introduction that she was going to show photography she has taken in the various locations and situations. She will explain why she chose the scenes and what she wanted from each image.
Rosemary ran through ten images to show her range of her photography.

Her work took us on a journey to many places, Including the Isles of Harris and Lewis, and Yellowstone Park in America. Up on the Isles Rosemary’s work contained beautiful, layered seascapes of blues and greys and natural patterns formed in the sand. In Yellowstone, the photos were vivid warm oranges, browns, deep blues and golds of geysers and their runoffs as well as beautiful mountainous landscapes.
Rosemary said she seeks simplicity in her work and likes negative space.
Composition is especially important to her, and she will offer tips and ideas for less experienced photographers.
After each feature Rosemary stopped for questions and explained her techniques.
We moved on to white painted churches of Santorini where Rosemary had explored angles and details in excellent images. The simplicity of each image made the images powerful and unforgettable.
One of Rosemarys tips was to take and image and then explore the image and thinking what more you can do. Look to see what other compositions you can make by moving a little left or right or getting low or high, or zooming in. She showed us examples of a simple window in a white wall on a building she had already taken.
She moved on to show us beautiful infra-red Photography she had taken after having a camera converted to Infra-Red. More interaction with the audience and we moved back to Yellowstone but in Winter this time. Beautiful snowy landscapes filled the screen as Rosemary described the experience of being there and thoughts behind images she had taken.

Next, she took us next to India where she had included people in her pictures returning to rich colours, attractive portraits, and the work of many individuals.
Again, these photographs conveyed stories and emotion set in their environment.
Lastly, we went to Norway on a small expedition for astrophotography and capturing Auroras. At midnight we find Rosemary photographing beautiful Auroras and up early next morning to capture a beautiful pale pink sunrise over the water.
Rosemary is full of ideas, energy, patience, and enthusiasm which is very inspiring.
She made you feel you could achieve what you want to.
This presentation was interesting and helpful,
Thank you, Rosemary, from all at ImageZ
