Hi folks,
Last night club member Steve led and evening of taking photographs using various kinds of lighting that one could use in the home during winter months.
We were asked to bring lighting and items along to photograph and two items I brought were two blue bottles and various candles.
For me it was the first real testing of my camera in manual mode to enable me to get the lighting right and thankfully had quite a bit of help from Des, Aussie Alan and Chris so a big thank you to them.
After a number of various arrangements of bottles and candles, things were beginning to come into place and I even had a smoke machine lol
Just before coffee time things got a lot better but unfortunately lost the smoke machine to give a finishing touch but well pleased with the result
This was by using two candles to the side, a mini torch at the front and masked candle behind the bottles used to brighten the background.
After coffee
I had a quick look around and saw various plumbing equipment being photographed but I am always attracted to bright red lights lol
Here Chris had a set up using a paper weight with a torch lit to the side. The idea was to turn ones lens forward on a slow shutter speed to produce a Dr Who type effect
but did not quite work for me.
Well I think the planet Gallifrey is somewhere in the middle in this image lol.
Thank you to Steve for the evening.
Next week there is also the ‘Winner on the night’ photograph competition which I had not noticed until mentioned last night, so get those prints and images entered by 23.59 on Sunday evening
