Round 4 of our Club Challenge Competition was held through an online medium, Zoom. This method of continuing meetings under current COVID-19 lock down conditions is proving popular across the country. Using the system is generally straight forward and 26 members gathered together on screen to hear our judge, Steven Galvin from Marlow, outline the various merits (or not) of all our entered images.
There were 21 entries under the theme of GIVING and 36 in the OPEN section – so a wide variety for Steven to critique and score. As we all found out, there is a lot to consider in our images – it isn’t just as simple as point and shoot. We all discovered something new to add to our work flow when processing our masterpieces. The creativity and divergent thinking in the theme section was amazing and just shows what a super range of images can be created; the Open section was equally exciting and Steven had a tough task; our judge’s comments, though, were all thoughtful, kindly delivered and well-paced.
Thanks to Chris for his work as Admin and to Chenxi for displaying the images and keeping scores so efficiently. At the end of the evening our competition secretary had the task of totting up the results to add to the scores of previous rounds; results table below with top scoring images. Judge’s Choices went to David Jones in the Open and Sue Brown in the Theme. The final competition is on 5th May when it could get interesting!
With Chenxi not entering this round, the top of the table is now wide open. At the end of Round 4 we have Tami Nunley at the top with 144 points, scoring the max possible of 40 over the evening, Closely followed by David Gibbs (143), David Jones & Kathy Chantler (142), John Timbrell (140) Barry Coxon (139) and Peter Carter (138) – several others are not far behind so no time for complacency.
