This weeks meeting was our first ‘practical’ evening of the season.
A good turn out of members, cameras and tripods filled the hall. Chris had set a challenge of eight tables, each set up with 5 objects. Some had five of the same. For example, apples, onyx eggs, wine glasses and paper cups. Others had five ‘themed’ items. A collection of perfume bottles, and a collection of pottery. The challenge was to make creative and interesting images with various forms of continuous light.
Within minutes everyone was busy taking pictures, and as the creative juices flowed, different structures were built and stacked. I was most impressed with the stack of wine glasses! Some of the more precious items were just rearranged rather than ‘balanced’ on top of each other. Chris had promised his wife that her precious pottery would NOT get broken!
Thank you Chris for setting this up for us all. The steady hum in the hall all evening spoke volumes of how much fun everyone was having.

What a great set of photos from the night, hope you’ve all been inspired to give this sort of thing a go at home on dark winter evenings. With the right amount of creative input from you, even the most mundane objects make great subjects.
