Tell us a Story
26.3.24
On Tuesday evening ImageZ asked members to show us photographs that had a story, either a success, disaster, or a good back story. Thirteen members came forward with photographs and stories that hadn’t been see before or heard.
There were some humorous stories from Derek, and Carol. Derek was wiring Liquorice All sorts together to make a man as the subject of his photograph for a Diversity competition while Carol was photographed with Mad Frankie Fraser the associate of the Kray twins and told some of the stories he had told her. Brian went to photograph Kites including a rare white Kite and Steve filmed some lovely birds on the Isle of Mull.
Meanwhile Peter was filming elephants in Africa as they passed his wife who was showering in an outside shower. Neil took us back to an exciting match between Nadal and Federer in 2008 that lasted from two thirty to nine twenty-five, and he had taken an amazing photograph of the storm coming in over centre court.
Martin travelled to America for work and took a trip to a Native American site, while Tami went up in a helicopter over Pearl Harbour whist in Hawaii and saw the sunken ship The U.S.S Arizona bombed by the Japanese during the pearl Harbour raid during the Second World War.
Sam shared with us how he had taken photographs on a 1920’s camera and how he worked with a model to make a horror picture, while Julia explained how she had carried out changes on a beautiful photograph of a young woman in a woodland area standing in a pond.
John spent time taking photographs of a clock dandelion adding water droplets to enhance it. Laurence wrestled with three little dogs trying to get them to look at the camera. Lastly Chris took us to the location of the Prince of Wales bridge where he explained how and why he took the photo he finished with and how he had researched the project. The evening was light and entertaining.
