An earlier talk at ImageZ, ‘Can’t see the Wood for the Trees’, by Simon Turnbull lead to a small group meeting up with Simon in Ashridge Forest.
Advice and teaching on spotting compositions and features, together with Simon’s expert guidance, gave everyone confidence to see the potential in both large and small features of the woodland. The light was fantastic and the mud ‘not too bad’ so we were able to wander amongst the trees and collectively found a host of details, both large and small. The key, Simon said, was to really ‘see’ what was in front of us and not just what our eyes could ‘see’, remembering that the camera sees everything!
We all had a fantastic few hours enjoying the artistry in nature with a selection of our images showing the myriad of features and views; we are all hoping for a return visit in the Autumn.

Really loved this workshop. Incredibly mindful and the tuition was excellent. Would love an autumn event & maybe a fungi walk too.
Fantastic images by all
It looks like you all had a great time on this workshop and produced an excellent set of images. Well done!
