Last night’s Winner on the Night competition featured an excellent collection of forty seven photographs, with both the variety and quality of the entries making for an enjoyable competition.
There was a remarkably broad range of subjects on show, including wildlife, landscapes, architecture, flowers, people and street photography, alongside some more imaginative and abstract images. It was a good demonstration of the different ways club members approach photography and the subjects around them.
Our judge for this competition was Chris Palmer, and he gave a fair and insightful critique of each image, highlighting both areas for improvement and where an image was particularly well crafted or successful.
Our judge was asked to select his top three images, and the ones selected by Chris were:-
- Stuart Craig – Silks Skills
- Lynn Day – Snowy Peak
- Barry Coxon – Green Bottle Fly
The standard was particularly strong, with five entries Highly Commended and a further four gaining Commended awards.
With such a varied and high-quality selection of images, there was plenty to enjoy and plenty to inspire. Another very enjoyable camera club evening.
Placed and highly commended images
