I would like to thank Tami for suggesting we visit here and for coming with me to meet the Lindengate staff to organise a date to come along. This morning has been an absolute gem.
A big thank you to everyone who sent photographs and comments , and on behalf of Laurence and myself I would like to thank you all for the lovely things you said about Laurence and I for organising the visit. It was a pleasure thank you from both of us.

Here are some comments that the members sent in about the morning at Lindengate Charity and Gardens and some words about the lovely photos you have provided.
I offer an image from this morning of two insects that perched briefly by me on a bench. They were colourful and eye catching. Lindengate was a surprise and a lovely treat.

We had a lovely visit to Lindengate yesterday, with so much to see and so little time to see it. I hope there will be another visit sometime. My thanks to Laurence and Carol who organized it for us, It was well worth it.
What was the flower? I don’t know, I just liked the way that some of the seedheads were pointing upwards to the sky and others downwards. I thought it made an interesting image.

A delightful morning exploring the six acres of gardens at the Lindengate Charity in Wendover. The weather was kind and the company was lovely. All finished off with tea and cake; what could be better.

I thoroughly enjoyed the visit to Lindengate. It’s a beautiful six-acre garden with a variety of habitats, run by friendly and helpful staff. Lindengate Charity does great work to promote and protect the physical and mental wellbeing of the general public by the provision of nature-based activities in horticulture, conservation, heritage skills, arts and craft, woodworking and education.

An interesting location to photograph given the mix of wild and cultivated areas, with numerous structures to add to the interest.

This was just one of the many beautiful plants on show at the Lindengate charity. Sisyrinchium striatum
(Pale yellow-eyed grass)
Other common name: Yellow Mexican satin flower
This beautiful iris-like plant looks stunning when grown in groups. It can grow up to 80cm with a 50cm spread. Flowering in June and July, the nectar/pollen-rich flowers are known for attracting bees. Although native to Argentina and Chile, this plant is hardy through most of the UK, and seeds are easily available.

Thoroughly enjoyed an hour and a half at Lindengate yesterday, especially the warm welcome from our host, Jackie. The dazzling expanse of wildflowers was very tempting to photograph en masse but I decided to single out individual flowers and tried to create a dreamy feel by using a wide aperture of F4 or so, which I know is not normally done. I attach an example of this. It won’t win any awards and I haven’t scrutinised it for sharpness on a big screen but I like it!

Thoughts on Lindengate : A very peaceful place to immerse oneself in nature among the glorious colourful display of summer wildflowers and lush plantings.
We were made very welcome and having the space to wander mindfully was a real boost to my mental health on Saturday.
A sentence on my Photograph: A classic rose showing itself in with its graceful petals in the summer sun.

Peace and quiet, beautiful flowers and plants, and so many seating areas to enjoy the different sections. Amazing volunteers providing tea and cakes on a monthly “open day”. What’s not to like about Lindengate.
The pond has a number of ducks and moorhens, and I caught this one leaving the pond to take a stroll and say hello to ImageZ members.

This was the first time I have been able to join one of Imagez summer photo sessions and I must say I found it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Watching how others went about their photography was very interesting as was the social aspect of the session.

The first is a picture from the vegetable garden of flax seedheads / buds with one actually in flower. A narrow depth of field f/1.4 and fast speed as there was a slight breeze.
The second is a multi-exposure of 3 shots with some post processing to enhance the leaf structure and texture. Happy to be corrected, but this plant could be Sorbaria Sorbifolia , common name false spiraea.

Here’s my Lindengate pic. It’s such a great place.
